Desk known as 'Bonheur du jour' from the 18th century Directoire period in mahogany with its brass nets. Resting on four tapered legs and a spacer with braces. Its top unfolds with a leather top. The two mirrors on the step are mercury. top is in marble decorated with a brass gallery.Trees fine Parisian work from the end of the 18th century.

A little history? The happiness of the day being a piece of furniture made up of tiers themselves filled with drawers (and sometimes a few hiding places), they could hide mail there which was their "happiness of the day".
